A New Venacular Style

The scheme introduces six semi-detached family homes, each designed to reflect the site’s character while offering modern, flexible living. Spread across three storeys with modest dormers punctuating the roofline, the homes establish a contemporary rhythm that subtly echoes the grain and scale of neighbouring properties.

Set back from the road, the development creates a quieter, more considerate frontage that aligns with adjacent houses and softens the overall massing. Vertical articulation through parapets and carefully placed windows emphasizes the individuality of each home while maintaining cohesion across the terrace.

Internally, layouts are designed around family life and natural circulation. Each house provides four bedrooms, with sleeping areas on the first floor and loft, and open-plan living, dining, and kitchen spaces at ground level. Street-facing entrances lead directly into light-filled communal areas that foster connection to the outdoors.

The design for each unit is bespoke, optimising orientation, privacy, and amenity. Stepped façades, articulated brick porches, expansive glazing, and dormers combine to create a visually engaging frontage that is contemporary yet sensitive to its context.
