Infill Extension to a Victorian Terrace
The project is a full refurbishment to a Victorian terrace in Greater Manchester, that aims to reconfigure the existing plan layout on the ground floor and create a connected family space. The client was keen to integrate wildlife in the design by including a bee-friendly shelter sitting in a white concrete panel at the base of the picture window, and connecting the house to the rear garden.
Aesthetically, the proposal blends subtle modern elements with the original Victorian features of the house in order to preserve the character of the dwelling. There is a strong emphasis on textures and contrasts, with a rich, warm and luxurious palette of colours and materials.
