The proposal seeks to extend and remodel the existing dwelling to create a more spacious, flexible and adaptable home, alongside a new one-bedroom annexe.

The design draws on mid-century influences, curved forms and a considered material palette, combining the existing red-brown brickwork with concrete look-a-like render, silver-grey timber larch cladding and galvanised metal roofing. The front elevation remains restrained, with a defined entrance and subtle curved detailing, while the garage conversion is deliberately expressed as a subordinate element.

The rear elevation adopts a more contemporary character, with feature bedroom windows, rooflights and carefully designed dormers providing additional light, views and headroom. Internally, the ground floor is reorganised around an open-plan kitchen and conversation pit, with a flexible multi-purpose room that can accommodate future bedroom use.

The proposed annexe provides compact, independent one-bedroom accommodation designed to make efficient use of the available space while complementing the character and materiality of the main dwelling.
