Old Bones with a New Curved Flow

Following a fast-paced and fruitful "Design in a Day" session, we all landed on the same idea, a rear extension that could finally give the dining-kitchen space the room it’s been dreaming of. The plan? Stretch the kitchen into a generous space with a shapely island that multitasks as both prep zone and social hub. Meanwhile, the infill area cleverly steps up to become a hardworking boot room, function and flair all in one.

Two steps down, the new dining room spills effortlessly out to the garden, grounding the space in nature and inviting the outdoors in. Framed in crittall-style French doors that swing open towards the garden, the space dissolves the divide between inside and out, summer dinner parties, meet your new HQ.

We’re exploring the idea of a built-in bench to cozy up the dining nook, a deliberate move for a more tucked-away, intimate vibe. Above the bench, an arched window window slices through the wall, casting soft daylight deep into the space.

And just to keep things playful, we’ve ditched the sharp corners for elegant swooping curves , a choice that flows not only in plan, but sings in elevation too. It’s a softer, more sculptural way to live, a little unexpected, and all the better for it.
